The local agent who is here to help.

During the unsteady climate in the property industry; many Landlords, Vendors, Buyers and Renters are left in the dark whether they can sell, buy or even pay rent! With isolation potentially around the corner, job loss rife and potential financial issues imminent for many. Birmingham landlords are no different.
As a result of the lack of solidity in the industry, many local agents are struggling during this time. Many big names are even being forced to sack employees and reduce costs drastically.

The property industry has predicted a drop in trade up to 80%

Harborne Estate Agents, MECS, are urging anyone who feel in the dark to reach out to them for advice.
MECS, established in 2009, is one of the leading independent estate agents in Birmingham.
The agent is trying to keep the excitement and advantages to be enjoyed by their home city, Birmingham, as it prepares to host the Commonwealth Games in 2022, HS2 plans and the huge transformation of the city centre.

The business is still providing a full service through virtual viewings.
Director of business - Sami Mubarak, has taken drastic measures to enable staff to work from home, allow viewings and altered contracts (short term) to enable his business to thrive during this tough time.

SAMI’S TIPS FOR RUNNING ESTATE AGENT BUSINESS’ VIRTUALLY.
-    Communication is key
Understanding your staff and their needs during times at home is paramount. As long as work gets done don’t be pushy.
-    Develop ways to access your computer systems from home – Personally we use Splashtop Business.
-    Re-think costs.
Have difficult conversations with staff. People are very understanding.
-    Think virtual.
Properly developed property videos, great photographs and video tours so people can still view property without needing to leave the house.
-    Keep in touch.
Talk to your customer base – let them know your still there!
-    Transparency is key – Lets your clients know what will be happening. Sometimes a smaller fee is better than no fee.

Sami wants to spread positivity at this time and expresses anyone who wants advice on property, business or just for a chat to reach out. All you have to do to get in touch via email at info@ mecsproperty.co.uk
